David Hamel-Owner

About Us

My name is David Hamel Jr. I am the owner of Eagle Eye Home Inspections. I am a Veteran, an Eagle Scout and a long term resident of the Owasso area.

My wife and I purchased our first home in 1996. We were inexperienced regarding real estate transactions. We mistakenly hired  a home inspector that did  not have our interests in mind. Once we moved in we found many major problems with the home. We spent approximately 30,000  trying to fix things in  the home. Finally we gave up  and sold the house to a commercial home buyer for less than we paid for it.

I made it my mission to inspect your home like it was mine. I share all defects, big or small because I don’t want this kind of thing to happen to my clients!

I am highly trained in the home inspection field academically and with extensive hours of hands on training. I am certified by INTERNACHI. I have successfully passed the NHI exam. I am licensed by the construction industries Board of Oklahoma Lie. #1297.

We must stay current with continuing education hours to maintain current licensure status with the Construction Industries.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Home Inspection?
A professional home inspection is an examination of the condition of the home on the day it is inspected; it is not an appraisal, which determines market value or a municipal inspection, which verifies local code compliance, but rather describes its visible physical condition and indicates what may need major repairs in the near future.

Do I really need a home inspection?
Sellers should disclose all known deficiencies in their homes, however, a home inspection can help identify any unknown issues. Our inspectors efficiently and thoroughly inspect the house for any additional deficiencies, maintenance and safety issues.

Can I do the inspection myself?
Even the most experienced homeowner lacks the knowledge and years of expertise of a professional home inspector. An inspector is familiar with the elements of home construction and remains completely objective and unemotional about the home.

How much is a Home Inspection?
Locate the square footage and it’s corresponding price by clicking here to determine the cost of your home inspection.

Should I attend the Home Inspection?
If you can, definitely! We recommend the homeowner be present for the entire inspection to get a clear overview of the home’s condition. Our inspectors can then review the findings with you and answer any questions. If you aren’t able to attend, we will take detailed pictures and include them on your report. Please feel free to contact us with any questions once you receive your report.

How Long will the home inspection take?
It typically takes 2-3 hours to inspect a 2,000 square foot home. Factors that affect the length of the inspection include the home’s age, condition, features and construction materials. You can be assured we will take sufficient time to do a professional, thorough inspection.

Are you Insured?
Yes. All licensed home inspectors carry current general liability insurance and can provide a copy upon request. Eagle Eye Home Inspectors are covered above the minimum requirement set by the Construction Industries Board.

When and How will I receive my report?
We guarantee you will receive your inspection report via email within 48 hours, however, reports are generally available the day after your home inspection.
